Maybe because its such lovely autumn weather, or maybe it’s because we are joining in at The Tessalaars Gardening and Plants Expo this weekend, April 6th &7th in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Or maybe it’s just because we love flowers? Lots of flower power, in a rather gentle way is happening in store at the moment!

The Jeffrey Smart Exhibition, Master of Stillness 1940-2011, closes next Monday at Tarrawarra Gallery, and it is a wonderful opportunity to see various stages of his work.
I was completely unaware of Jeffery Smart, but after hearing so many people talk about how wonderful the exhibition was, I thought I should mosey along and see for myself.
One glorious late afternoon, with my Grade Two boy in tow, we headed off:was it amazing! Loving it both so much, we have revisited again, and yet again! Of course, there are no pictures of the paintings allowed, but Tarrawarra itself is so magical. It is one of my favourite places in the Valley, and each time I go, I wonder why I don’t make the effort to go more often!
Lovely lamps in store now, with a variety of finishes; also available in floor lamps.
Love an old ledger, gorgeous bindings, aged papers and a certain smell that wafts out: ok I admit, sometimes that’s not such a good thing!
I have a stack at home on the sideboard that give interest and height on the sideboard.
Others I have secretly stashed away in cupboards to be bought out when no one is watching!
At Heathmont we have several old notebooks and tombs tempting me here too, no where is safe!

Over the years, we have had a board range of cards, some so beautiful, they were bought to be framed, others posted overseas to special friends or family members, and others making people laugh hysterically. It is always quite gratifying to watch the time people put into choosing cards, and hope that the recipient can feel the energy that has gone into the choosing of the card upon receiving it.
